It’s inevitable these days; whenever you attend a conference or event, there’s a sponsor. Most of us tend to see it and not put too much thought into why. “It’s just high-profile advertising,” you might think. And there’s a basic truth to that, yes.
But there’s so much more as well.
What It Really Means, From a Certain Point of View
When you examine the core mission of an AIHce EXP sponsor, you’ll note some obvious similarities. Let’s look at a few examples:
“Preserving human life on, above and below the earth.” (Industrial Scientific)
“That men and women may work in safety and that they, their families, and their communities may live in health throughout the world.” (MSA)
“Protect the health and safety of our employees, contractors, customers and third parties.” (One of SGS Galson’s commitments)
“Nanozen’s mission is to build, test, and market leading edge technologies that drive new, emerging standards for workplace analysis, worker protection and timely corrective action in the Occupational Health and Safety industry.” (Nanozen)
Sound familiar? These are all closely aligned with AIHA’s stated mission, “Empowering those who apply scientific knowledge to protect all workers from occupational hazards.” (Check out the mission and value statements from Dräger, DuPont, and SiteHawk, too. You’ll see similar sentiments.)
Sponsors add so much dimension to our events — by utilizing sponsorship to amplify their presence at our conference, they are also giving us the means to provide better education and networking experiences for our attendees.
Laura Cilano Garcia, Program Director for Strategic Partnerships at AIHA
What it all means is that our sponsors are committed to the same core values that attendees like you hold dear. And they want you to know this through sponsoring AIHce EXP at some level, whether through a special event or overall support of the conference.
It also means that AIHce EXP can deliver some great extra content to our attendees. We wouldn’t be able to do special events such as the First Timer’s Webinar and Meet and Greet, the Tuesday night Networking@Nite Reception, networking breaks (with coffee!), or be able to afford in-demand inspirational speakers for our general sessions. Nor would there be things like games and drawings, book signings, or a means to continue to introduce more cutting-edge technology such as the scan-and-go registration process or the mobile app. It’s because of our conference sponsors that we’re able to offer an enriched conference experience for everyone who attends and even those online for the virtual conference.
What really makes the AIHce EXP event so special is the level of commitment our sponsors and attendees bring with them every year. With so many professionals gathered together, it’s an incredible feeling to walk the floor and sit in on Learning Pavilion sessions that exude such dedication and passion for workplace health and safety.
Consider thanking one of this year’s sponsors if you have the chance, and let them know they have another dedicated ally in our shared cause. Because with their support, AIHce EXP becomes more than just a conference - it becomes a community with a passionate pursuit of professional excellence.
